About us

What We Do

Our philosophy is to be fair and honest with our clients as we advocate for the health of their pets.
How we demonstrate our philosophy:

Transparency
1) The prices for many of our services are published on our website for you to see and compare. We will not always be the lowest cost, but we offer you above average service for below average fees.

2) We do not charge any hidden fees, such as “waste disposal fee“, “blood collection fee“, “tech service fee” or “operating room fee“. These add-on fees have become the industry standard, but we believe that the practice is deceptive and hurts the trust that is necessary for building a long-term relationship. For example, you may call a clinic and ask what their rabies vaccine costs and then book an appointment with that office. Then, once you go to the clinic, get the vaccine, and go up front to pay, you then find that your bill is almost double what you thought it would be, because a few extra charges (like the ones I listed above) were added on.

3) The prices for our most common surgeries and all the related options are listed on our authorization forms that clients are required to read and sign before leaving their pet with us. We do not perform any services or charge you any fees without your knowledge and permission.

Simplicity
1) All of our hospital forms are a single page – front and back. We think it is needlessly complicated when hospitals give clients 3-4 pages of legal jargon whenever the hospital needs an authorization for a procedure. We’ve spent a lot of time trying to make things as simple as possible. Signing an authorization form to leave your pet with their veterinarian should not feel like the process of buying a car.

2) All of our flea and tick medicines carry one simple price for each product. We keep prices simple and easy to understand, so we do it differently.

3) We don’t use the common selling tactic of ending each charge with 0.99 cents. Although it is likely not noticed by most clients – since practically every type of business does it – it’s still a form of manipulation. All of our other prices end also end in a whole number.

Fees
1) Value: Our promise is that the quality of service and value that you get by trusting us with your pet will be worth the expense. Our aim is to gain you as a lifelong client, not to make a quick profit off of one visit.

2) Surgery Cost: The cost for most of our procedures, especially dental treatment surgery, tends to be half that of the local surgery centers. We’d rather do more procedures at a lower cost than few procedures at a high cost. Over the last few years, we’ve become one of the most experienced hospitals at doing procedures such as dental treatments, c-section, growth removal.

3) Nothing Hidden: Many hospitals add additional fees such as IV catheter, blood work, Elizabethan collar, go-home pain medicines, and other costs onto routine, healthy-patient spays and neuters. We believe that each client and pet are unique and each procedure should be tailored for each individual situation. We do recommend all the above mentioned services and are happy to discuss the benefits of each. However, we also believe that by dogmatically requiring clients to opt into each service, the unintended consequence is that some pets are turned away due to higher surgery costs and that more harm than good is done to the overall pet population.
